Wow, I can't believe I am doing it. I never thought I would blog on the internet. I ready other peoples blogs daily and I am fascinated but I never thought I would do it. Then I thought why not try? So here goes...
I wasn't quite sure what to blog about so I decided to focus on what makes me the happiest in life and that is my family. I want to share my struggles and joys of being a stay at home mother and wife. I think everyone will be able to relate.
Ever since I started trying to have my first child, I kept a journal. When I found out I was pregnant with my daughter, I wrote in it constantly (or should I say typed since it was on the computer). It is so wonderful to go back and read because there are already so many things I have forgotten. I have friends that are now having babies and will ask, "when did your daughter do this or when did your daughter do that". I would tell them how I remembered it and then would check back into my journal and realize I was completely wrong. It is amazing just how many things you forget. When a mom says their child was potty trained at 12-18 months, I just think to myself, they totally forgot that it was actually 24-30 months.
Anyway, when I was trying again for my second child, I kept a journal again. I wrote in that one a lot too but not nearly as much as my first one. I always said I would just do the first year, but I couldn't do that. There is just so many milestones, funny quotes they say or cool things they do. I had to keep writing and writing and writing. Now my daughter is 6 and I am still writing. Now, I don't write as much as I used to in them but I try to write the important things or crazy things they say. Maybe this blog will take the place of those two journals from here on out.
I decided to do this so my children can have something to look back on. I lost my Mother when I was in my early twenties, I was not married and didn't have any children. Well, that all changed and now I am married with two kids and there is so much I would love to ask my Mother. I have asked my Dad and he has given me a lot of great information, I just think there would have been so much more that my Mother would have remembered. I want to give my children everything. When they have children of their own, I want them to have all the information possible from their childhood.
I am always up for something new and right now I have decided to try the blogging thing. Please wish me luck!
